Cafeteria Redesign

By Iliana Brouillette

This Spring ideas for redesigning our cafeteria started to come up like spring flowers. When Mr. Bucco was asked, why now?, he told us that when he looks around he doesn't see a place where everyone felt included. For some kids lunch time is one of the best parts of their day, but for others it's the most dreaded part. This project will most likely be spanned out over the next couple of years. The funds are being provided by the PAC. When the survey results came back, there was a lot of the same answers: not enough seating, new foods, etc. Right now they have $3,000 dollars, but there is no definite plans on how it will be spent. The goal is for it to be all inclusive and a place you want to dine. When the idea for redesigning the cafeteria first came up all the teachers were interested in being a part of it. The idea of the whole school deciding on one thing sounded hard to do, so they decided to choose one grade to do it -- the eighth grade. They toured other schools in the area to look at how they have their cafeterias set up and borrow a few of their ideas.
